Eligibility for Conrad Golf Ranking
Any professional or amateur player who competes in an eligible event will be ranked under the Conrad Golf Ranking system.
Eligible Events
Official events from the following tours and leagues are counted: PGA Tour, DPWT, Asian Tour, LIV Golf, Korn Ferry Tour, Hotel Planner Tour, Korean Tour, Japan Golf Tour, PGA Tour Americas, Clutch Pro Tour, Sunshine Tour, Australasian Tour, China Tour, Nordic Golf League, All Thailand Tour, Pro Golf Tour India, Asian Development Tour, ACN Tour, Alps Tour, Gira de Golf, Taiwan Tour, MENA Tour, Tartan Pro Tour, Pro Golf Tour, Big Easy Tour, and The Senior Majors.
Ranking Determination
The Conrad Golf Ranking follows the established men’s world ranking philosophy by awarding points based on the strength of the field. Player performance is evaluated over a rolling two-year period, with greater weighting given to the most recent 13 weeks. Points are decreased in eight equal increments, each spanning 13 weeks, across the two-year ranking period.
Points Awarding System
Points are awarded according to the strength of the field, except for the four major championships which use a fixed-point distribution:
- 100 points - PGA Championship, US Open, Open Championship
- 85 points – Masters (Limited Field Adjustment applies)
Players accumulate points over a 104-week “rolling” period. Rankings are based on a player’s average points per tournament, calculated by dividing the total points by the number of eligible tournaments played during the 104-week period. A minimum divisor of 40 is also applied. No maximum divisor is used.
Strength of Field Calculation
The Strength of Field (SOF) for an event is established based on the quantity and ranking of participating players. Individuals ranked within the top 1000 of the Conrad Golf Ranking contribute points that factor into the SOF calculation. The presence of the top 40 ranked players in any field sets the potential SOF Cap for any given event, while the points from additional participants influence how closely the event's actual SOF approaches this cap. The resulting SOF value determines both the number of players eligible to earn points and the allocation of point values during the event. For events lacking top-1000 ranked participants, a minimum Strength of Field Rating is assigned according to the total number of competitors.
Impact of Field Size
A Limited Field Adjustment is applied for certain field sizes:
- Fields of less than 100 players (Grade 1 – 85% value)
- Fields of less than 75 players (Grade 2 – 80% value)
- Fields of less than 50 players (Grade 3 – 75% value)
- Fields of less than 30 players are not eligible for Conrad Golf Ranking points
Points Cut and Distribution
Not all players who make the cut receive Conrad Golf Ranking points. The number of players awarded points each week depends on the field strength, with each event having an effective points cut determined by its Strength of Field.
Tied Finishes
Players finishing in a tied position are all awarded the full points value for that place. For example, two players tying for third each receive the full third place points value, rather than splitting the third and fourth place points values.
Bonus Points for Multiple Wins
The Conrad Golf Ranking does not award bonus points for multiple wins. The ranking system is designed to value wins on all tours adequately, so there is no need for additional bonus points.
Ranking New Players
Any professional or amateur golfer who competes in an eligible event is eligible to be ranked. If a new player finishes within the points in any eligible event, they are automatically added to the Conrad Golf Ranking.
